Our Story
V.I Seniors Services was born from a deep personal commitment to changing the way we care for our aging loved ones. Founded by mother and son, Reymeline and Justin Evenson, our story begins where many do; on the frontlines of care.
We both started our journeys as healthcare aides, working hands-on with seniors and learning the real, human side of caregiving. Over time, we advanced into nursing, building a combined 25+ years of experience in acute care, long-term care, and travel nursing across Vancouver Island. We’ve seen what works, and what doesn’t, inside the healthcare system.
What became clear through it all was this: seniors deserve more than just routine care. They deserve dignity, independence, and to be seen and treated as whole human beings. Too often, elder care becomes cold, rushed, or impersonal. We created V.I Seniors Services to change that.
Why We’re Different
We don’t answer to a corporation, we answer to our clients.
At V.I. Seniors Services, every decision is guided by our belief that people come before policies. We design care that fits your life, not the other way around. Whether it's help with personal care, companionship, safety checks, or just someone to talk to, we’re here to make each day easier, safer, and more meaningful.
Our Core Values
-
Quality of Life Over Quantity of Life
We focus on what matters to you. Your comfort, happiness, and well-being are always our priority.
-
Autonomy and Purpose at Every Age
You call the shots, we're just here to support your independence and make things a little easier.
-
Honest Conversations About Care
We’re not here to push services. We’re here to listen, to understand, and to build care plans that truly reflect what you want.
-
Compassion Beyond Medical Needs
Care isn’t just physical. We support the emotional, spiritual, and social parts of life too, because you’re a whole person, not a checklist.
“To care for those who once cared for us is one of the highest honors.”

Meet the Founders
Justin Evenson
Founder & Executive Director
Justin is a purpose-driven leader with a clear mission: to redefine what aging with dignity looks like on Vancouver Island. With a background rooted in hands-on care and years of experience as a nurse in both acute and long-term settings, he has seen firsthand the gaps in traditional senior care. His work as a travel nurse throughout British Columbia deepened his understanding of how care can, and should, be more personal, respectful, and empowering.
In addition to his clinical experience, Justin has completed advanced training in dementia care, palliative and end-of-life support, and leadership. These tools, combined with his frontline perspective, have shaped his approach to building care systems that center around the individual, not the diagnosis.
Through Vancouver Island Seniors Services, Justin brings his vision to life: a service where seniors are truly seen and supported, where families feel peace of mind, and where care goes beyond the basics to honor the whole person.

Reymeline Evenson
Founder & Client Care Director
Reymeline brings over two decades of hands-on healthcare experience to Vancouver Island Seniors Services. Her journey began as a healthcare aide, where she discovered a deep passion for working with seniors. That calling led her into nursing, where she went on to serve in both long-term care and acute settings, as well as working as a travel nurse across British Columbia.
In addition to her extensive frontline experience, Reymeline holds a wide range of specialized training and credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her advanced education includes wound care management, dementia-focused training, and leadership development, equipping her with both the clinical expertise and the leadership skills to support clients and guide caregivers with confidence.
She believes that great care begins with listening, truly hearing what each person needs and valuing their voice in every decision. As Client Care Director, she ensures every family receives the kind of support she would want for her own. Her leadership is rooted in kindness, attentiveness, and an unwavering commitment to delivering care that honors the whole person, mind, body, and spirit.
